The 25th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival
For 2024, the 25th San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF) invites audiences to rise above the clouds and embrace boundless possibilities. Girls will be girls, and the dynamics promise to be exceptionally unique. The festival pays homage to a legend of Asian American musical activism and celebrates the achievements of a queenballer. It honors furry companions, both present and departed, while spotlighting superboys and mistress dispellers. Inspired by an illustration from Eileen Tjan, a Los Angeles-based creative director, SDAFF’s creative team crafted a visual narrative brimming with youthful energy, buoyancy, and playful reinvention.

Come Hither to the Fluorescence & Radioactive Buds
As the Graphic Design Coordinator, my task was to translate the event branding into various digital and print assets that would be utilized for marketing campaigns, video productions, events, and merchandise. We explored what it meant to live in our “villian era” and wave a glamorous middle finger at what people expect Asian and Asian Americans to be.

Print Advertisements
SDAFF strategically markets across diverse platforms, spanning from local magazines to online advertisements. San Diego Yuyu, a prominent Japanese resource for local news, arts, and entertainment coverage, serves as a valuable partner for our festival promotion. This collaboration empowers us to effectively connect with and engage the Japanese American community, maximizing the reach and impact of SDAFF’s advertising efforts.
