Bauhaus Beginnings

To celebrate the Bauhaus design school’s 100th anniversary, the Getty Research Institute hosted an exhibition in its honor. In this typographical-focused project, the campaign identity drew inspiration from the Bauhaus architecture and balanced geometric shapes. One of the design challenges of this project was to incorporate the exhibition’s information into the main design in a dynamic and functional way. Once the campaign identity was developed, it was promoted through various channels ranging from print to digital.

Focus: Event Branding, Typography

Deliverables: Poster, Exhibition Tabloid, Ephemera, Social Media

Client: The Getty Research Center

Strategic Solution

Extensive type studies guided by constraints and Bauhaus imagery led my first steps into this project. Before I moved into manipulating text on different planes, I studied various ways to create interest on the two-dimensional plane. I developed a three-dimensional space visual identity for the event and applied it to digital and print touchpoints.

Social Media Platforms

Social media can help establish a sense of connection with your customers while exposing them to your brand. It was important to design a campaign that can be used on various platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

Welcome to the Bauhaus

As visitors enter the exhibition, they will be given a tabloid brochure introducing the event to them. Inside, they will find information about the history of the Bauhaus and its many masters.
