Senior Show

Every year, seniors of the graphic design department create promotional content for the Senior Show exhibition. I wanted to highlight the process and journey of graphic design students since few truly know what it is like to design something from start to finish. This direction takes an ironic approach to the phrase “it’s a piece of cake” to inform others about the obstacles and tribulations designers overcome during their careers.

Focus: Event Branding

Deliverables: Poster, Postcard, Animation, Social Media

Client: Art+Design Department, Point Loma Nazarene University

Strategic Solution

A challenge for the project was to promote the exhibition to newcomers through an interesting and informative design that my fellow graphic design and fine art students can relate to in a fun way. By displaying the various sections and ingredients of a cake in a fun and illustrative approach, other students will gain a better understanding of how the Senior Show is full of students who have worked hard to make it to their final year.

Time to Celebrate

To advertise the excitement and celebration of the senior show, I created an animation using illustrations from the poster.

In It Together

Drawing inspiration from my own experience as a graphic designer and illustrator, I wrote down various phrases I frequently encountered. I found peace in knowing I wasn’t the only one who faced these struggles as an artist.
